Grrrrrrr........(That is my angry noise.)

I've been trying so hard to keep good healthy foods in the house. I've stopped buying sugary drinks and treats. I've tried not to buy things (like cheese) that might tempt me throughout the day. Russell has been a pretty good sport the last couple weeks but this is what greeted me when he came through the door Tuesday night.

If you will notice, the TWO bags of Sour Punch Straws are gone. Yep, that was me. Sigh.....

Question: Does your significant other/family support you? How? How do you get around it if they don't?

  1. Joe supports me by letting me eat whatever I want to eat or letting me choose the restaurants that we go to most nights.

But he brings cookies and peanut M&Ms into the house at all times. It's funny, because I thought that I wouldn't be able to stand being around that all of the time, but as it turns out I guess I feel okay about it because it will always be there. I know that I can always have some and that it won't be ripped from me without a moment's notice.

So the more it's around, the more I don't care if it's around.

    Weird...I know. :)

Also, thanks so much for your sweet and supportive comments on my blog. It makes all the difference. :)

  2. My husband knows if he brings CERTAIN foods not everything, that he will be in so much trouble. Cause then he has to hear me yelling and crying. (yes I throw tantrums). I am ok with most things but NOT COOKIE DOUGH OR DONUTS OR ANY PASTRIES really. But my 11 year old likes candy sometimes so sh gets it and puts it where I can't see it. I really don't mind other than for my trigger foods. I feel your pain!

  3. Oh boy! He tries to support me. But there are times when junk gets brought into the house. In his defense he never knows if I'm on or off program! I try to ignore what he brings in, but I'm not always successful!

  4. OH MY GOODNESS... Drew doesn't help at all. Not really fair to him because I'm not VERY strict with what I eat but I do try to choose the better choice. He is completely against us going from ground beef to ground turkey, he thinks it "tastes weird" and he thinks them labeling things "organic" is just a ploy so that you will spend more money, even if the organic option happens to be cheaper than the alternative (explain that one to me). I could go on and on and on, but I won't bore you.
So just know it's not just you that has to deal with "semi-supportive" husbands. At least Russell has stuck with it for as long as he has without pulling similar shanangins! :) Keep up the good work you are doing AWESOME!

(this is probably one of the only comments I will leave, but you get one, YAY!)
