Today's Goal

I've been spending too much time in bed again. Watching TV, reading your blogs, checking facebook over and over and over......I'm stressed, and when that happens I tend to shut down. So today's goal is to stay out of my bed all day. Maybe I will actually get something done today.

Daily Goal Tuesday

I did my 4 miles on the treadmill. :) I ran 3.1 at 5.5 mph, then walked at 4.0 for .4 miles, ran at 5.5 mph for .25 miles, walked at 4.0 for .15 miles and ran the rest at 6.0 mph. Whew! With the warm up and cool down I made it 4.45 miles. Woo Hoo!

Also, My 5k time was 34:00! My best time this year!

I'm running another 5k on Sunday up in Park City for the 4th of July, so I won't be running anymore this week. I'm going to swim laps tonight and then Zumba tomorrow!

Lunch was yummy! Brown rice and steamed broccoli with a cut up Boca Chik'n patty, tossed in a little bit of Annie's goddess dressing. Super filling and I felt really good about it.

Facepalm...

I just registered for a 10k. It's on July 24th. This year. Eek! I think I'll go run now.

Bad food and a 5k!

Let's rewind to Friday. My goal was to eat a good healthy pasta dinner and get a good night sleep. Well. FAIL! Let me explain. Earlier in the week, my aunt called to see if I wanted to do some work landscaping with her. Because I am jobless I said yes. Then she said I had to be there at 5:30 on Friday morning. AM! A morning person ≠ me. Well, Thursday night Russ I went up to Heber for our horse club practice. We didn't get home until 2 in the morning! That meant I had to do some pretty heavy landscaping duty on 3 hours of sleep. Sigh. I got home at 2, decided a nap might not be the best idea so I stayed awake until Russell's brother's birthday dinner. Where did we go? Pasta? Nope. Goodwood Barbecue. (I don't know if I have mentioned this yet, but since I have been doing the VBD thing, I can't eat beef. Sad, really, cause I LOVE a good steak, brisket or pot roast.) There wasn't anything on the menu that I wanted to eat, so I settled on a turkey sandwich, no mayo. It was ok, but it wasn't the pasta dinner I was looking forward to. I also wanted to get a good nights sleep and I did go to bed at 10:30, but with the lack of sleep the night before (And the heavy duty yard work) took its toll, and I was pretty tired on race day.

Race Day!!

See Sam's post for the pictures! I was really hoping to beat my best time ever which is 33 something, but it wasn't in the cards. My finish time was 34:50. I was feeling a little down on myself and then I realized that it was my best time this year and I have only been running for about 2 months where last year I trained for 6 months before my first 5k. I still want to get under 30 minutes and I know I can! I'm running another 5k on Sunday and hopefully this time I will be rested! Here's to 32 minutes!

Bad food weekend:

Egg white omelet = Good
Egg white omelet drowning in butter = Bad

Date night with the hubby = Good
Cheese enchiladas = bad

I didn't follow the VBD at all this weekend (Or today) and I feel like CRAP! I love that my body now tells me to stay away from no-no foods. Honestly, those cheese enchiladas were just way too much and made me really really sick. I don't want to feel like that again, so I won't eat like that again.

Tomorrow's goal: 4 miles on the boring boring treadmill. I've got to make it to a 10k by Sam's birthday!

PS Saturday was Sam's first 5k ever and she ROCKED it! I am SO SO proud of her!

First I'll huff, then I'll puff, and I'll go over there to get my heart rate down!

Yesterdays goal was to get up early and get cardio in before my Muscle Buster class. I shouldn't have bothered with the cardio. :) I did 20 minutes on the elliptical and made my way to the studio. This was the first time I have gone to this class so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. Turns out it wasn't going to be the regular class. We were going to mix it up a bit. We went outside to the baseball diamonds to workout on the bleachers. Here's what we did:

This is a very beautiful and accurate drawing of the bleachers. The purple line is our pathway.
There were only about 8 stairs in each stairway.

Warm up:
Walk the bleachers.

Work out:
Run up the stairs, walk down, run to the next staircase. Complete the circuit twice.
Lunges on the bleachers
Run up the stairs, skipping one step, walk down the stairs. Complete the circuit twice.
Calf lifts on the bleachers
Run up the stairs sideways, walk down. We went around once, then it again with the other leg.
Squats on the bleachers.
Stairs again.
Push ups on the bleachers.
Stairs again.
Dips on the bleachers.
Run back to the Studio.
Abs on stability balls with weights.

Oh man! Can we say cardio? Running those stairs was killer! My heart rate was up up up the whole time and my legs were Jell-o. I actually couldn't make it all the way through some of the runs cause my heart rate was so high. I can't wait to try again. I think this is the cardio I need. I'm going to head over to the high school next week a couple times to work on this.

My 5k race is on Saturday! I'm getting excited. :) I think I'm getting sick though, so I am doing all I can to keep that bug from hitting too hard. I'm going to shoot for a time better then 33 minutes. I can totally do that! Right? Of course, right.

Walmart has these great Danskin workout tanks and t-shirts for $4! I bought 3...white, pink and blue. Yay for new workout clothes.

Tomorrow's Goal: Eat a good healthy pasta dinner and go to bed early so I can be all that I can be for my race.

I'm still here!

I spent the weekend with my husband and our friends at my parents house in Heber. It was a beautiful weekend and I was sad to come home. Friday night we went to Cafe Galleria in Midway and had the best pizza (Goat cheese and roasted pepper pizza with a pear and gorgonzola cheese salad) The weather on the patio was perfect, there was live music, good food and great company. Then we went back to my parents house and had a fire in the backyard, talked, watched the stars, then went to bed. Saturday, Sam woke me up by throwing a pillow at me. :P We sent the boys back to Cafe Galleria for fresh baked bagels. So good, but can we say carb overload? Then we went to Sundance and hiked to Stewart Falls. It was an easy hike and really pretty! There were a couple of steep hills so I really pushed myself to get and keep my heart rate up. After that was some fly fishing on the very crowded Provo River. (Father's day weekend = Lots of people fishin'.) Sunday was nice and relaxing. I was sad to come home.

I had a couple of "bad days" on Monday and Tuesday but I made myself go to the gym Tuesday night and it really really helped. Zumba today was most excellent and I killed my arms and abs. I hope I am sore tomorrow. :)

I got 3 cute workout tanks from Walmart today for $4 each! They had some great colors and they didn't have the shelf bra that never fits my big boobies.

I really need to get back to my daily goals so here goes:

Tomorrow's Goal: Get to the gym by 7:45 am so I can get in a cardio workout before the Muscle Buster class!

Feelin' Oogie

You know that feeling when you wake up, and you just don't feel good? Well that is how I feel right now. I woke up with my husbands alarm at 7 and instead of getting up and starting my day, I went right back to sleep. I didn't wake up until 10! WHAT?!? I feel like a teenager! I still don't feel 100% but I am going to push through it. The plan was to run today so I am going to. No excuses. (DAILY GOAL WAS JUST ANNOUNCED, BTW)

Funny story: I didn't work out yesterday. The plan was to get up, run, then go to a strength training class, but I woke up too late. (I wasn't feeling so great yesterday either.) I figured it would be okay because I was going to go ride my horse last and that does give you a workout. I got to the arena last night and opened the door to the trailer. Sid, having gotten unhooked, backed out as fast as he could and started trotting down the street. I swear I could hear him laughing at me the whole way. I walked as fast as I could to catch up (I couldn't run at him...he would have started loping and that would have been really dangerous because his lead rope was dragging on the ground and he could have stepped on it and tripped.) hoping that the tasty grass on the side of the road would entice him to stop, but nope, he just kept going. Finally, he turned off the road and into someone's grove of Christmas trees. There were some horses over there that I guess we wanted to say hi to. They said their hellos and I thought I would be able to catch him then, but no, he took off again, through the yard and into a small little pasture area. I was finally able to corner him, walk him back to the trailer and get him saddled up. Point of the story, I did end up getting my cardio in.

OKAY. I'm up! I'm going to the gym. Then I'm taking the car back to the shop (grumble grumble grumble) and I am going to have a nice, productive day. Thank goodness for warm weather, and thank goodness for the sun!

Oh yeah! I signed up for a 5k next saturday. I checked out the results from last year, and I think I could actually have a chance at placing in my age group! (it's a small race.) So I'm going to shoot for that.

Happy Friday everyone!

Daily Goal and a Tummy Ache.

Today's goal was to get some fitness in. I wasn't able to go to the gym but I did walk about 3/4 of a mile walking to the repair shop to pick up my car. I guess I'll count it. :)

Tonight I went to a meeting at The Sizzler. I knew I was going to have a steak tonight so I spent my points accordingly. I ordered the smallest steak on the menu (The 7 oz. Filet Mignon) and a salad bar. The plan was to fill up on a nice salad and eat half the steak. I made a great salad and since I have been eating lots of vinaigrettes lately I had ranch. (Only a little bit, less then 1 oz, but I still felt like it was too much. Bleg.) I ate all the salad and when the steak came I dug in. I love steak, I always have. The bigger the better. Tonight though, I found myself feeling sick and bloated after eating less then half of it. I haven't had much red meat since I have started VBD and I am a little surprised at my bodies reaction. I think at the meeting next month, I will stick to the salad bar and have a bite of my brother's steak. Maybe the chicken. :)

I have decided to run the Halloween Half Marathon in October. Eek! I'm nervous and excited! There is a prize for the best costume, so send me some ideas! I don't want anything that will chafe or smother.

Tomorrow's goal: Call the "lady Doctor" to set up an appointment to discuss infertility.

Many Many Things.

Check it out!

Saturday was my horse show and my goal was to have a good attitude. Having a good attitude was actually quite easy because we had a blast! I didn't win any prizes or set any records, but that's okay because I did better then last year and my nerves were gone! Hopefully some pictures get sent out soon so I can post those.

Yesterday my friend asked me to go hiking. It was a beautiful day (FINALLY!) so we decided to hike the Lamb's Canyon Trail.

Views from the summit

You can start in Lambs Canyon and end in Millcreek (If you have someone to pick you up on the other side.) We just did the up and back.

The Trail. There is still a little bit of snow.
Trent forgot his walking stick so he ran back up to get it.
Water
More Water

Flowery tree
Pics from the trail
These pretty vines were everywhere along the bottom of the trail.
They had these very delicate purple flowers.

When I got home I suited up and went to the local outdoor pool to swim laps with my friend Brooke. The water felt great, the SUN was out, and the laps worked my arms. It was so relaxing!

This week has started out really well! I can't wait to see what happens the rest of the week.

Today's Goal: Get some form of fitness in. I don't know what I feel like doing. Any ideas?

Question for Runners: There are 2 half marathons that I want to do but they are 2 weeks apart. Is it crazy to try and do both?

Daily Goal

Remember, Even if you already follow my blog,
just leave me a comment and you are entered. Easy as pie!

My goal was to break in my new shoes. I totally did! I did my 5k in 35:22, shaving 2 minutes off of my last time. ALSO, I ran the ENTIRE thing! That is a first for me. So, YAY! (I was worried that I overdid it and that I would be sore today but I'm not. At all.)

The concert last night went REALLY well. It's such a relief to have it be over.

Today's Goal: I have to go to a horse show in the rain. I don't want to. I'm tired. It's going to be cold (It is June, right?) and muddy. My goal is to not let myself get grumpy. And, to stay away from the junk food being sold at the food stand I am helping run.

Happy Weekend everyone.

Brand Spankin' New

There are some new things in my life that I love! I thought I would share. :)

1. I said bye-bye to Soy Milk and said hello to Almond Milk. One Cup of unsweetened Almond Milk has only 40 calories!

2. I downloaded the new Twilight: Eclipse Soundtrack and I am LOVING it! I am addicted to the songs "Heavy in Your Arms" by Florence + The Machine and "Eclipse (All Yours)" by Metric.

3. My new shoes!! Nike+ Zoom! They are cushiony pillows of goodness for my feet and my legs, knees, feet, and ankles felt great after my run.

4. Annie's All Natural Goddess dressing. Sooo yummy! Vegan, but full fat. There is a ton of flavor though so I don't need a lot.

Ok, that's all I can think of right now. Have a great day!

Good Morning!!!

I didn't set a daily goal for myself yesterday, but I continued to work on my list. Kitchen is done and laundry has been started! My Bells on Temple Square concert is tonight, so that is one less thing to worry about. (I have extra tickets, btw, so if anyone lives in Salt Lake City and wants to go, let me know! The concert is "A Tribute to Old Glory" So we're playing a bunch of americana and folk songs. It's going to be great! The brass choir that plays a couple of songs with us are playing Fanfare for the Common Man...it gives me chills every time.)

Yesterday turned out to be the kind of day that I just needed. I went to the gym..I got there later then usual so there were TONZ of kids.....I did 40 minutes on the sit bike (Plus about 10 extra minutes cause I had to finish my book. My glutes were sore!) If you are into reading and like Twilight-y novels check out The Hourglass Door by Lisa Mangum. If you don't like Twilight-y novels, you may like this anyway. NO VAMPIRES!! (Young love though...it IS teen lit after all.)

I got ready for the day (I almost forgot to add that I wore the jeans I took my "see I'm fat" pictures in. They were a little tight, but a month ago I couldn't even button them up!) and went to The Salt Lake Running Company. It was my first time there, but I have heard that it is the place to go for running shoes. First I was met by Adam, who looks just like James McAvoy. I felt like I was talking to Mr. Tumnus without the sexy accent. I considered asking him to talk with a scottish accent, but that would have been silly. Anyway...He gave me a pair of shoes to try on and put me on a treadmill for 30 seconds. When I was done he showed me a playback of my feet while I ran. (I over-pronate when I run which means I have an inward roll of the foot.) He brought me 4 pairs of shoes to try on that will help with the over-pronation, we narrowed it down, and I left with a new pair of shoes! Yipee!

I ended up downtown because I had a dress fitting at the Tabernacle for the concert tonight so I thought I would head over to the Gateway (a great out door mall) to visit Barns and Noble to use my gift card. The weather was perfect, the kids were playing in the fountain, and a jazz band was playing in the square. I just wanted to sit and chill...so I did. I felt so content. And that is a good feeling to have after such a stressful week.

After this, I was starving so I went out to eat all by myself. I went to my favorite little Ethiopian restaurant and had a veggie combo. Yum!

I came home, hung with the hubby, watched an episode of Buffy (The one with 2 Xanders. You know the one.) and went to bed.

Ahhhhhhh............you see, good day!

ANYWAY,

Today's Goal: Break in my new running shoes. I think I am going to sign up for a half marathon in October, so I am going to add a mile on to my run. We'll see how that goes. :)

I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Friday! Talk to ya soon!

Daily goal - Tuesday...well sort of.

WARNING
Severe whining ahead

Ugh. I'm stressed. I feel like I'm being pulled in a dozen different directions right now. And that is stupid because I don't even have a job. Well, not a "real" job. (That is causing me stress too) We're trying to sell our house, and it's not selling. It's not even showing! I thought the 1st time home buyer tax credit was supposed to get the market moving, maybe it did, but now it's dead. No one has even looked at the house since the end of April. I have this paperwork that I need to get filled out so our house can hopefully sell faster, but I can't make myself do it. Every time I start I get hung up on a question so I stop. Stress. This Friday is my Bells On Temple Square Concert. It's going to be great and I'm really looking forward to it, but there are extra rehearsals and fittings this week that have me pulling my hair out, plus there is one song that gives me an anxiety attack every time. Stress. I'm the secretary of our horseback riding club and there is a lot of busy work that needs to get done. Not much, but it's just one more thing that HAS to get done and that causes STRESS. I'm doing some work for my aunt. I'm entering things into the computer and I hate it. I don't know how people do data entry everyday. If you do...wow...wtg. I know it needs to get done but because I don't want to, it doesn't. (I'm getting paid for it, so it should be one the top of my list, right?) The car needs to go in. Russell has left that up to me. I don't want to take it in. I get nervous just thinking about it. That is one instance where I will admit I am a total girl. Boys should do the car stuff. Even if it is just taking it to the mechanic. Plus, it is going to cost money. :( The house is getting cluttered again. I hate it. I need to clean it. I have lots of time to clean it. Do I? Of course not. There's more, but I'm not going to talk about that.

I know that if I did these things on my list, my stress would go away..(Well, mostly.) Instead I shut down and do nothing. I stay in bed all day watching TV, surfing the net, reading everyone's blogs (over and over and over). I hate that I sabotage myself. I finely get a handle on one part of my life (the fitness and the eating) and everything else goes in the toilet. Then things get so scrunched up that I sabotage my weight loss as well.

So, yeah, my daily goal....so didn't happen. I didn't leave my bed until I had to get ready for rehearsal. I blew off friends and family. I didn't answer the phone. (I'm am so sorry, btw, you know who you are.)

Something has to change, and it has to change now. Today. Starting with Zumba. All of my paperwork will get done today. I'm going to check in every time I finish something on the list. I know that I will feel better when it's all done.

You know, weight loss is about so much more then just eating right and exercising. It's about learning about who you are and who you want to be. Sure I want to be a skinny little hottie, but I also want to be a good wife, housekeeper, daughter, sister, employee, and friend. There are a lot of steps I need to take to get there, but I'll never get to the top if I don't take that first step.

So here's the "To-Do" List.
  • House Paperwork
  • Horse Paperwork
  • At least call the mechanic about the car
  • Pay bills
  • Laundry (it's been on the list a lot, I know, I just hate it so much!)
  • Kitchen
  • Weeds
I think these are the things that if I can just get them out of the way, I will be in a much better place.

Today's Goal?....Yep. The list. Wish me luck.

PS I have my vlog from the top of Salt Lake Overlook. I will get that posted today, thanks for voting!

PPS I also have a giveaway! I will also post that later today.

PPPS If I don't hurry, I am going to miss my Zumba class. Again.

PPPPS I love you all. Thank you so much for your comments and support! (And letting me whine.)

Daily Goal - Monday

w00t! I kicked booty today! There are many things I would like to thank for my success:

1. The Sun. I have decided that I am a solar panel. It makes me happy and gives me energy.
2. Water. You are so cool and refreshing. You keep me hydrated and you cool me down.
3. My running skirt. You make me feel cute and sporty. And you don't bunch like my shorts do.
4. Ibuprofin. You keep me from hurting. I like not hurting.
5. Jog Tracker. You tell me how far I've gone and how fast. I don't even have to worry about it!

Anyway, I knocked 2 minutes off my time for a total of 37:23. The runnin' just clicked today. My breathing was good, my energy was high, and I only walked .5 miles out of the 3.1. Yay!

I think a couple of weeks ago I said I got my best 5k time ever, which was 43 minutes. Anyway, I started thinking that couldn't be right. I checked my time for the 5k I ran last July in Park City, and my time was 33:51! 33:51!! I can totally beat that though. Just give me 3 weeks. It took me 6 months to get to that time last year and only 3 weeks to get my 37 minutes this year.

Ah well, I blabber.

Tomorrow's Goal: Swim Laps. And buy some real running shoes.

My massage was most excellent, BTW, and my toes are all purdy!

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Daily Goal

Tomorrow's Goal: Get up and run! I need to be home by 9 am so that means I need to hit the track by at least 8. I can do this! Plus, I would like to beat my 5k time of 39:28...If I do I will reward myself with a 90 minute massage and a 90 minute pedicure. Ok...I will have the massage and pedi no matter what my time is! ;)

I hope everyone's week gets to a rockin' start!

Here is my anthem of the week! Listen! Love it!

Weekend Confessions

Wow, it's been so long since I last blogged. I mean, two whole days! Did ya miss me? ;)

Friday was a great day! I went on a beautiful hike with Sam from Believe in Yourself, I ate well, (Forgot to take pictures, though I did snap one of dinner.) and I managed to enter a few recipes into the computer for my Aunt (which was my daily goal.) I just didn't really feel like blogging, you know?

Here is a picture of my dinner. I didn't want to cook or go out so I sent Russ to the Ethiopian Restaurant for take out. Its hard to tell what everything is, but there are lentils, beets, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, collard greens, beef, and an egg all on a sourdoughie, spongy piece of injira. Even for dinner I didn't eat much of the beef, and I didn't touch the egg. It just didn't sound good. Have my tastes changed that much in a month?

Yesterday (Saturday) SUCKED! I did nothing productive all day. I just read and watched Doctor Who.(Which I am loving, BTW)

And I ate. Boy did I eat. All day. It seems like I was at the fridge every hour or so scrounging. Looking back on it, most of my snacks were healthyish. I had lots of grapes and half a bag of baby carrots, some fat free Greek yogurt, a soy milk and banana smoothie. My meals weren't too bad either as I ate my leftovers for breakfast AND lunch (I know, but it was just so yummy I couldn't wait), and dinner was one piece of "pizza" and a sprout salad with garbanzo beans. I just ate WAY too much. I felt bloated and stuffed by the time I went to bed. I felt all oogie this morning, too. I guess my munching wouldn't have felt so bad except for the fact that I didn't do anything yesterday. The only exercise I got was going to the kitchen and opening the fridge. I feel bad that I wasted such a beautiful day, too. I could blame my husband...he played WoW all day...but it would have been easy to get him off his butt and out with me to do something fun together. It's just sometimes I just need that extra push, you know?

Lesson learned: Lazy Saturdays = Bad. I'm really going to work on the getting up and out bit on the weekends! No more wasted days!!! No more ooginess in the mornings! Oh! And no more Ghiradelli Caramel Chocolate Squares right before bed.

(Lucky for me, the scale did not reflect my indiscretion. Here is for a clean eating Sunday!)

Thursday meals and daily goal

Sorry for the late post! I got home pretty late last night and went straight to bed.
(After I ate a rice crispy treat! Bah! I had a good day though, so I am not worried. It was delicious, btw.)

Breakfast:
Strawberry Banana and grape smoothie with plain soy milk and a splash of mango nectar.
(Before my run I had a piece of Whole Wheat bread with honey.)

Lunch:
Veggie Sandwich with avocado, lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, tomato, alfalfa sprouts, yellow mustard and red wine vinegar. Pickled beets and some carrots dipped in almond feta.

Dinner:
(I ate in the car so I couldn't get a picture!)
Grilled Salmon Sandwich w/baked sweet potato fries.....Yum-O!...From Au Naturale. If you live in Salt Lake City and you haven't been there yet, you need to go! Their regular order of Sweet Potato fries is 2 points! Also, they post all of their nutritional info at the restaurant! My whole dinner was 12 points. Not too bad for "fast food".

Daily Goal: Yesterday's goal was to beat my 5k time of 40:09. I did it! 39:28 Baby! I got this great new app for my droid phone called Jog Tracker. It uses the gps to tell me how far I have gone and how fast I did it. I love it!

Today's (Friday's)Goal: I have a project that I am getting paid to do that I really need to get done. Today!

Thursday, June 3, 2010

Bed....sleep...calling....

I made it my weekly goal to stay out of my bed once I was out for the day. I've been doing really good, but today my down comforter is calling my name! (The gray skies aren't helping either.) I'm going to go take a nice loooooooooong shower and if I still need a rest then I will do so on the couch. NOT in my bed. Take that cravings!!! (Can a person crave a bed? Is staying in bed all day an addiction?)

Helping out a friend....and the environment!

It only takes a sec and I think this is a great idea and a great cause!

Wednesday meals and daily goal

Breakfast:
Kashi GoLean Crunch with Plain Soymilk

Lunch:
Tofu and vegetable stir-fry with black bean sauce over rice noodles (and a banana!)

Dinner:
"Pizza" Whole Wheat Bread spread with tomato paste and topped with low fat mozzarella, tomatoes, and dried basil. The salad is romaine with cucumbers, sprouts, garbanzo beans, pickled beats, almond feta, and Newman's Own Light Balsamic.

My daily goal was to kill my abs and my arms after Zumba...and I did work the arms and the abs, but I missed Zumba! I decided to ride my bike to the gym today and realized when I got there that I had forgotten my wallet (with my gym pass and my 10 punch pass for the Zumba class.) I was able to get into the gym, but not my class. I was SO disappointed! I think it's a little funny that I was so bummed to miss a work out. :)

Tomorrow's Goal: Try and beat my 5k time of 40:09

Also...2 more days to vote! Right now it's tied and I am NOT carrying my guitar up a mountain!

And

Last night I posted "What's with all the clouds? Ana needs her sunshine!" My Aunt then posted "You ARE the sunshine, Dear." That made me think...How awesome could life be if I made my own sunshine? Something to ponder and put into action!

Tuesday meals, Daily Goal, and workout woes.

Breakfast:
Leftover grilled yams with maple syrup and 1 cup Vanilla Silk. They were just as good as they were last night and really filling! I couldn't eat them all.

Lunch:
Leftover spaghetti squash with tomato sauce
and a Cucumber, avacado and cilantro salad with rice wine vinegar.

Dinner:
Tomato Coconut Curry Soup w/chicken and rice noodles

Daily Goal: My goal was to stay out of my bed ALL day and I am very pleased to report that I was successful. There were many times I was tempted to crawl under the covers but I stayed strong. I accomplished a lot today to. Today's daily goal is morphing into my first Weekly Goal. Once I'm out of bed, I'm out for the day!

Tomorrow's Goal: Stay at the gym after Zumba and work my abs and arms till they're screamin'!

I tried to run tonight. Tried is the key word here. After .6 miles my body said 'no more!' I was feeling so discouraged and a little mad at myself. Then I thought about why I was having such a rough go. Here's what I came up with:
a) It's my time of the month
b) I've always been lacking energy at the end of the day
c) It's my time of the month
d) I had a lazy weekend
e) It's my time of the month

Did I mention that it is my time of the month? Auntie Flo just sucks the energy right out of me.

I'm not going to get down on myself. In the future I just need to make sure I get my running done in the morning. I'll stick to yoga or walking if I leave my workout till the evening from now on.

Jim Gaffigan talks about cake!

I'm not sure why, but quotes from this bit have been running through my head all day.
So watch! Laugh! Enjoy!
