Good Morning!!!

I didn't set a daily goal for myself yesterday, but I continued to work on my list. Kitchen is done and laundry has been started! My Bells on Temple Square concert is tonight, so that is one less thing to worry about. (I have extra tickets, btw, so if anyone lives in Salt Lake City and wants to go, let me know! The concert is "A Tribute to Old Glory" So we're playing a bunch of americana and folk songs. It's going to be great! The brass choir that plays a couple of songs with us are playing Fanfare for the Common Man...it gives me chills every time.)

Yesterday turned out to be the kind of day that I just needed. I went to the gym..I got there later then usual so there were TONZ of kids.....I did 40 minutes on the sit bike (Plus about 10 extra minutes cause I had to finish my book. My glutes were sore!) If you are into reading and like Twilight-y novels check out The Hourglass Door by Lisa Mangum. If you don't like Twilight-y novels, you may like this anyway. NO VAMPIRES!! (Young love though...it IS teen lit after all.)

I got ready for the day (I almost forgot to add that I wore the jeans I took my "see I'm fat" pictures in. They were a little tight, but a month ago I couldn't even button them up!) and went to The Salt Lake Running Company. It was my first time there, but I have heard that it is the place to go for running shoes. First I was met by Adam, who looks just like James McAvoy. I felt like I was talking to Mr. Tumnus without the sexy accent. I considered asking him to talk with a scottish accent, but that would have been silly. Anyway...He gave me a pair of shoes to try on and put me on a treadmill for 30 seconds. When I was done he showed me a playback of my feet while I ran. (I over-pronate when I run which means I have an inward roll of the foot.) He brought me 4 pairs of shoes to try on that will help with the over-pronation, we narrowed it down, and I left with a new pair of shoes! Yipee!

I ended up downtown because I had a dress fitting at the Tabernacle for the concert tonight so I thought I would head over to the Gateway (a great out door mall) to visit Barns and Noble to use my gift card. The weather was perfect, the kids were playing in the fountain, and a jazz band was playing in the square. I just wanted to sit and chill...so I did. I felt so content. And that is a good feeling to have after such a stressful week.

After this, I was starving so I went out to eat all by myself. I went to my favorite little Ethiopian restaurant and had a veggie combo. Yum!

I came home, hung with the hubby, watched an episode of Buffy (The one with 2 Xanders. You know the one.) and went to bed.

Ahhhhhhh............you see, good day!

ANYWAY,

Today's Goal: Break in my new running shoes. I think I am going to sign up for a half marathon in October, so I am going to add a mile on to my run. We'll see how that goes. :)

I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Friday! Talk to ya soon!

  2. What kind of shoes did you end up with. I have a rolling foot too. And I am being fit for an orthopedic inserts this next week. Hence the foot pain.
